Dimi Scuba Diving Cozumel Diving in Yucatan Cenotes The cenotes are waterholes lost in the middle of the forest. At the surface there is fresh water but deeper there is salt water and in between is an unclear area where the waters are combining. Underground rivers which are sometimes kilometres long, leave from these cenotes. These dives consist of discovering the entrance of the cenotes. We use the caving technique (double tanks, reels, 2 regulators, 3 lights...). Anyone without a certificate for cave diving will not get away from the entrance of the cenotes and they will always see the daylight. These dives are organized by our specialized cavern instructors and are totally safe. Required level: you need the open water certificate or the level one. A basic certificate may be sufficient if the diver is experienced and can control his buoyancy. The journey: you leave Cozumel by boat and you arrive in Playa del Carmen where you take a minibus or a car. Once you are in the jungle, you get the equipment prepared and go to the cenotes. The diving: the water is colder than in the sea so you need to use a diving suit (you can rent one). The tanks and weight belts are provided by the scuba diving centre. You will need a light. This is a one day trip, you will do two different dives and the maximum depth is 70 feet (20 metres). "Fabulous, magnificent, you mustn't miss this" !!!...
